Surprises

Ever have one of those days when you've hurt someone's feelings and you simply never, ever saw it coming. And even if you feel you were right and there's just no way you ever even *should* have seen it coming, it still makes you feel bad. Well, when and if it should happen to you, just remember that life goes on (and it helps to know that you had no ill will or bad intentions). As for me, all I can say is that I try to do the best I can, every single day. Always remember that, as is true with most people, sometimes your best may just not be good enough ... but life still happens.

Interestingly enough, my fortune cookie yesterday said "Soon someone new coming into your life will be a best friend". So I'll just look forward to that new best friend ...

Give someone a new smile today, even yourself, you may be surprised at the results. If you have a good heart and good intentions, you will be OK.

Good Friends

Hello all,
Well, last night I went out to sing (karaoke) at a show hosted by some old friends of mine that haven't done a show since retiring from it 5 years ago. It was so fun! Tom and Wilma are in their mid-sixties and Wilma's mom (she's 86 and still playing piano) was there as well. I did an Elvis (her favorite) song for her and it was just a fun time catching up. Of course, it's tough to hang out too long in the smoke of a bar here in Iowa, but I was there for a couple of hours. Tom bought new equipment and started up again because his daughter now owns a bar in their town and wanted them to do their show again at the bar. He only does it occasionally and never more than once a week, but it's a fun time for them ... and it was great to see and talk to them again ... and the sound system is great! Well, nothing much else to report on.

Take care and keep warm ... Ken
